Aerial Photo Reference Mosaics contain aerial photographs that are retrievable on a frame by frame basis. The inventory contains imagery from various sources that are now archived at the Earth Data Analysis Center.
Aerial Photo Reference Mosaics were generated from aerial photos collected by flight contractors and submitted in support of map compilation and revision projects. They now serve as a valuable historical reference for the scientific community and general public to use in conjunction with more recent imagery. This image is used as a tool in determining the individual frame necessary to cover a specific area of interest.
This imagery was flown for the Soil Conservation Survey (SCS). The Mosaics are georeferenced and cover one 15' USGS quad map which is comprised of four 7.5' USGS quad maps. The individual scanned photo images are available from Earth Data Analysis Center and are not geo-referenced. The exact date of the photography is unknown. The scale of the photography is 1:31,680.

Image brightness values may deviate from the original images because of image value interpolation during scanning and rectification processes.
The aerial photographs were retrieved under rigid quality control and product specifications (i.e., stereo coverage, continuous area coverage of map or administrative units).
This project does not cover the entire state. Typically, coverage is of watersheds, soil erosion districts, and other areas where projects relating to soil conservation were carried out.
These images were produced as an aid in determining aerial photo frame numbers.
Images were scanned at 800 dpi using an Epson 10000XL Scanner. The image was georeferenced using ERDAS Imagine and was compressed using Enhanced Compressed Wavelet (ECW) with a 1:15 compression.
