- Abstract Data shows areas that are considered unserved and underserved in the state of New Mexico, which lack broadband coverage with
100/20 Mbps download/upload speeds through wireline technology. In addition, this data excludes areas that have had prior
grant awards. These areas shown are eligible for grants from the Connect New Mexico Pilot Program. The data were created by
the New Mexico Broadband Program (NMBBP) using the ISP data collected in August 2022. For ISPs that did not respond to the
August data request, FCC Form 477 (June 30, 2021) coverage was added.
- Purpose This data are created as part of the Connect New Mexico Pilot Program (“Pilot Program”) which aims to bridge the digital divide
and foster socioeconomic progress by providing infrastructure grants for broadband deployment to unserved and underserved
communities across New Mexico.

- Logical Consistency Report Grant eligibility layers shown in the New Mexico Broadband Grant Program Map were created utilizing ISP data (August 2022)
and FCC Form 477 data (June 2022). These layers depict areas lacking service with enough download and upload speeds to be
considered served. Areas were categorized as unserved and underserved based on speed and technology type present. Wireline
technology type constitutes coverage by Fiber, Cable, DSL, and Copperwire. Layers with “no prior awards” mean that project
areas that were previously awarded by State or Federal grants have been removed from the data. Layers that don't make that
distinction can include areas previously awarded as part of the data. Service category was determined based on the following
definitions:
- An unserved household or business lacks access to a wireline-based broadband connection offering at least 25/3 Mbps (download/upload).
- An underserved household or business has access to a wireline-based broadband connection offering at least 25/3 Mbps
but less than 100/20 Mbps.
- A served household or business has access to wireline-based broadband connection offering 100/20 Mbps or more.
- Completeness Report Complete.
